GoalSnapshot ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the information of our customers, website visitors, and users of the IEP Goal Tracker.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how information entered into the IEP Goal Tracker is handled, and the choices available to you.
By using our website or the IEP Goal Tracker, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
The IEP Goal Tracker is a Google Sheets and Google Apps Script-based educational productivity tool designed to help teachers organize and display:
Student rosters
IEP goals
Progress-monitoring information
Assessment results
Analytics
Student reports
The Tracker is designed to help teachers organize and display information they enter. It does not replace teacher judgment, determine eligibility for special education services, make instructional decisions, or provide professional educational recommendations.
We collect only the information necessary to operate our website, provide products and services, communicate with customers, and provide customer support.
If you contact us, we may receive information such as:
Your name
Your email address
The contents of your message
Information you voluntarily provide regarding a product or technical issue
Please do not send student names, student records, IEP information, or other personally identifiable student information when requesting technical support.
Our website is hosted using Google Sites and may collect limited technical or usage information through Google or other services intentionally enabled on the website.
Depending on the services enabled, this may include information such as:
Browser and device information
General website usage information
Pages visited
Approximate geographic information
Referral information
Website traffic and performance information
These website technologies are used for operating, maintaining, and improving the website and are not used to collect student educational records through the website.
If analytics services are enabled in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate to describe their use.
The IEP Goal Tracker uses Google Sheets and Google Apps Script to provide its functionality.
When you make a copy of the Tracker and authorize its Apps Script functionality, Google may display permissions requested by the application.
The Tracker requests access necessary to:
Read and write information within the Tracker spreadsheet
Create and update spreadsheet content, formatting, charts, and reports
Run authorized spreadsheet automation
Display the Tracker's setup and data-entry interfaces
The Tracker does not use Google services to sell, advertise, or otherwise monetize Google user data.
We do not sell Google user data.
We do not use Google user data for targeted advertising.
We do not transfer Google user data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
Google processes information according to Google's own privacy policies and terms.
The IEP Goal Tracker is designed for use with student educational information, which may include information protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and applicable state or local student privacy laws.
GoalSnapshot does not require customers to upload student educational records to our website or to GoalSnapshot's business systems.
When a teacher creates their own copy of the IEP Goal Tracker, information entered into that copy is stored within the customer's Google account and Google Sheets environment.
Examples of information a teacher may enter include:
Student names
Grade levels
Educational settings
IEP goals
Goal measurements and targets
Progress-monitoring scores
Assessment results
Assessment dates
Performance information
Teacher-entered notes
Other educational information necessary for use of the Tracker
GoalSnapshot does not receive or maintain this student information on its own servers simply because a teacher uses the Tracker.
The current version of the Tracker does not transmit student information to an external GoalSnapshot database or third-party student-data service.
The IEP Goal Tracker is an organizational tool. Its availability or functionality does not independently establish whether a particular use of student information complies with FERPA, state law, district policy, or an educational organization's technology requirements.
Teachers and educational organizations are responsible for ensuring that their use of the Tracker complies with applicable:
FERPA requirements
State and local student privacy laws
School and district policies
Google Workspace policies
Contracts and agreements
Organizational requirements for handling educational records
Educational organizations should use the Tracker only through accounts, systems, and sharing arrangements approved by their organization.
Users are responsible for ensuring that student information is shared only with individuals who are authorized to access it.
The IEP Goal Tracker operates within Google Sheets and Google Apps Script.
Student information entered by a customer is intended to remain within the customer's Google account and Google Sheets environment rather than being transmitted to or stored on GoalSnapshot's business servers.
GoalSnapshot does not maintain a central database containing student records from customers' copies of the Tracker.
We do not ask customers to send student records to us for product support.
If technical assistance is needed, customers should remove or anonymize student names and other personally identifiable student information before sending screenshots, files, or other materials to us.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
We do not sell student information.
We do not use student educational records for advertising.
We do not share student educational records with advertisers, data brokers, or information resellers.
Student information entered into a customer's copy of the Tracker is not provided to GoalSnapshot simply through the customer's use of the product.
Our website and business operations may use third-party services for purposes such as:
Website hosting
Product distribution
Payment processing
Customer communications
Customer support
Website analytics
These services may receive information necessary to provide the services for which they are used. They do not receive student educational records from the IEP Goal Tracker as part of its normal operation.
Google services may independently process information in accordance with Google's own terms and privacy policies.
We take reasonable measures to protect personal information within our control from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
The IEP Goal Tracker relies on the security controls provided by Google for Google accounts, Google Sheets, Google Apps Script, and related Google services.
However, no electronic system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Customers are responsible for maintaining the security of their Google Accounts, including passwords, multi-factor authentication, and spreadsheet sharing permissions.
Customers should also follow their school's or district's security requirements when storing educational records.
We retain information that you voluntarily provide to us only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
Provide customer support
Communicate with you
Fulfill transactions
Comply with legal obligations
Resolve disputes
Maintain necessary business records
If you contact us and request deletion of information that we control, we will make reasonable efforts to delete it unless we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, security, or other legitimate business purposes.
Because student information entered into a customer's copy of the IEP Goal Tracker is stored in the customer's Google account rather than GoalSnapshot's systems, the customer is responsible for managing and deleting that information within their Google account.
GoalSnapshot cannot remotely access, modify, or delete student information stored in a customer's private Google Sheet.
The IEP Goal Tracker is designed for use by teachers and educational professionals. It is not directed toward children as users.
Our website does not intentionally request personal information directly from children.
The Tracker may be used by authorized educational professionals to manage information about students, including minors. Such use should occur through educational organizations' approved accounts, systems, and policies.
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies provided by Google Sites or other services integrated into the website.
